I offer person-centred therapy online (via video call) or outdoors in green spaces in Midlothian, Scotland.
These sessions offer a talking space for you to explore any issues in your life that require healing. You may require a simple listening space, or we can incorporate other healing approaches such as ecotherapy, meditation, tarot and storytelling therapy into the process.
I am a qualified and experienced person-centred counsellor. I have over 15 years of experience working with LGBTQ+ people and I also have experience working with depression, anxiety, loneliness, abuse and many other issues. I am registered in the UK with the NCPS and I am fully insured.
Weekly or fortnightly sessions are recommended to begin with, and you can have as many sessions as feel right for you. If you are looking for longer-term support, please book a free 20-minute consultation (below). If you want just a few sessions, feel free to book a 50-minute session directly.
50-minute sessions can be booked via the link at the bottom of this page. They cost £55 per session, or you can book a discounted block of four.
“Exploring my life and challenges while immersed in nature is a truly liberating activity. Having Stephen to help me unlock my passion for nature and build that connection with the world around me has grounded me.” (G, a current in-person ecotherapy client from Scotland)
“Therapy with Stephen was like a magical journey into a new phase of my life, which kept me progressing daily; even through the difficult memories. I found myself looking forward to the sessions – I never ever imagined I would enjoy therapy. I wish I’d found this years ago. But the time was right, and I’m very grateful for a wonderful life-enhancing experience.” (L, 2023-24)
“I found Stephen to be very supportive and empathic. He held the space beautifully in our sessions allowing me to explore every aspect of myself without ever feeling judged. His calmness and kindness made my journey through therapy so much easier. His genuine compassion helped me in accepting myself. I always felt he was congruent and his ability to bear witness to my story was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Stephen as a counsellor and an ecotherapist'. (Ruth, 2020-23)
