Green Tarot.

A two-month nature adventure with tarot cards as our guide. July-September 2024.

Two Months with Nature and Synchronicity

“It was truly magical, special and very transformative. The group connection and synchronicities were nothing I'd experienced before on other online courses, or in any other group. It felt as though the tarot had joined in with the group too, as a participant, in a way; maybe as the "voice" of Nature, or an-other. Yet, the tarot also made individual impact and insights! The course awakened a passion within me for tarot from a different angle; that of Nature and the possibility to help people connect deeper with Nature and for Nature to connect deeper with people. Outstanding!” (Participant in 2023 Green Tarot group)

The 78 cards of the tarot have a way of speaking to us on a deep and powerful level. This mysterious and symbolic deck of cards has the ability to offer intuitive insight whenever we ask it a serious question.

The archetypal images of the Tarot, developed by many societies over many centuries, have a connection with the natural world that is seldom acknowledged.

Did you know that 74 of the 78 cards in the standard Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck feature nature symbolism? Furthermore, the classic Tarot of Marseille (restored by Alejandro Jodorowsy in 1997) also features 71 cards (out of 78) with clear symbols of nature – not to mention hundreds of new decks that have put nature themes at the centre of their designs.

Green Tarot is an experiential two-month course which will take us on a mysterious adventure. We will allow the cards of the tarot to guide us on a spiritual journey through our local natural landscapes, no matter where we live. All you need is a deck of tarot cards (not oracle cards, please note), a curious mind and a willingness to experience nature in new ways.

You do not need to know anything about tarot to join this group, although it is suitable for tarot experts too!

Here’s how it works. Every week, for eight weeks, a group of us will come together online via Zoom. One person from the group will be nominated to pull a card from the tarot, whilst we all focus on our question (which is the same each week): ‘What do we need to experience or learn with nature this week?’

When the card has been chosen, the theme for the week is set. I will guide an ad-hoc visualisation meditation based upon the card that we have pulled. We will then spend some time in the group exploring what the card might be asking us to look for.

Over the following week, we will each go for walks with the card in mind, looking for signs of this theme. We will then come back online a week later to share what lessons we might have learned, and what things we have experienced in nature using the card as inspiration. This course is suitable for those who have never done it before and for friends who have done the course with me previously, too: every year, the dynamics will be unique!

Each week, you will also be given a (specially designed) tarot spread or journal prompting sheet for you to explore, along with tips on how to read tarot for yourself (that’s if you need them!). These tools are designed to help you to explore your relationship with nature from a variety of angles.

Which cards will show up for us? What will we learn about nature? What will we learn about ourselves?

It doesn’t matter who you do (or don’t) believe about tarot. You might feel that the cards are spiritual guides, or you might simply view tarot cards as an intriguing way of finding new perspectives on your place in the world. Either way, you are welcome to join us.

When does it happen, and how much does it cost?

The group will meet at the same time on Thursdays for eight weeks. The first session is on 4th July 2024, and each session lasts for 1.5 hours. Sessions start at 7pm UK/2pm EST/llam PDT/8 pm Central Europe. (Check your timezone here.)

Dates are: 4th, 18th and 25th July, 1st, 15th and 22nd August, 12th & 19th September.

The course costs £120. This fee covers all eight online sessions, email support and a private group forum away from social media. If you have any questions before booking, feel free to email me.

I’m very much looking forward to this adventure!

“The course really made me explore my local area more deeply, and have a greater appreciation and respect for the nature right there, in my garden and local riverside. It also enlivened my past interest in tarot and is now something I’m really excited to explore further. The group environment was also so lovely - everyone was caring, encouraging and the space felt so safe for sharing and exploring connections and ideas together.” (Participant in 2023 Greent Tarot group)

Stephen McCabe and Tarot

My name is Stephen McCabe and I have been reading tarot for 20 years. I incorporate the use of tarot cards into my personal life and professional work in various ways. Throughout this course, I will guide you through some possible interpretations of the cards, whilst also allowing you to intuitively find your own insights.

Creating a programme which specifically connects tarot and nature is one of the most exciting projects I have ever done – it was such a powerful journey in 2023’s group and I can’t wait to repeat it again!
