In this week’s podcast, I interview the inspiring ecotherapy author Andy McGeeney about his life with nature.
Not many people can say that they have been active in the world of nature therapy/ecotherapy for 30 years. Andy McGeeney has been promoting nature as therapy for years (from back when few people in the mental health world were willing to consider the benefits of nature).
Andy’s book, With Nature in Mind, is a book that I have turned to countless times as an eco-therapist. He wrote it on the back of his extensive experience working with mental health groups in England. The diversity of nature-based exercises in this book really helped me to gain the confidence to work with my first outdoor groups. I continue to get ideas from it now!
In this week’s ecotherapy podcast, Andy talks about his life-long love of nature. He shares the story of his unique journey with mental health and nature, as well as sharing some beautiful nature therapy exercises that you can try for yourself at home. I’m sure you will find him as inspiring as I do!
