Episode 41: Daniel Allison Interview

In episode 41 of the nature therapy podcast, I interview the incredible author and storyteller, Daniel Allison. Daniel’s work incorporates nature’s myths and legends into stories and books, and I am really inspired by his work. Click on the slim black player above to listen.

Daniel has influenced my work a lot over the past year. As many of you will be aware, I am passionate about incorporating nature-based myths and tales into my ecotherapy work. One way that I do this is through my online ‘Myths and Tales Nature Therapy Programme, which is one of my favourite ecotherapy projects. It was Daniel’s professional feedback through his wonderful storytelling coaching programme that really made this project come to life.

Daniel is a great talent — his gentle and moody style of storytelling captures the heart and imagination, and even more so when he tells nature myths, which account for a lot of his work. Daniel specialises in sharing Scottish myths and legends with the world — and he has even published a book called Scottish Myths and Legends to prove it. This book is, in my opinion, truly the best place to begin if you want to learn more about Scotland’s historical tales and their relation to nature. Scottish myths and legends are amongst some of the most fascinating in the world: they are right up there with Indian, Greece and Norse myths.

On the podcast, Daniel even shares a powerful story about ‘the most beautiful song in the forest’, and I encourage you all to tune in and experience this beautiful tale (beautifully told).

I hope you enjoy this week’s ecotherapy podcast folks — it’s the penultimate episode before Season 1 of the podcast ends and I take a break until the Summer!

Green smiles,
